Mystery of Olive Tree

The Hebrew word for "Olive tree" is es shemen,which literally means "tree of oil". It is from a primitive root meaning "to shine". It means richness,anointing,fat,
fruitful,oil,ointment olive. It is related to the word shemesh 'to be brilliant' and which also is the Hebrew word for 'Sun' that brightly shining orb the sky.

The Olive tree was one of the most valuable trees in the ancient Hebrews. It is first mentioned n scripture when the dove returned to Noah ark carrying on olive branch in its beak (Gen8:11). The olive branch is a symbol of peace to the world. We often hear the expression f 'expanding an olive branch to another person as a desire for peace'.


Lulav in Isreal is a combination of four species that make up the olive tree which are :

* Willow tree
* Palm tree
* Myrtle tree
* Citron tree

Relating an Olive tree to Human Life

* Every plant depend on the Sun for growth. Every human must depend on the Sun for growth. Mal4:2.    The sun is Jesus. We must depend on God for our lives to be green.
Let God be the center of everything that you do. For you to flourish you must depend on God. (Sun).  For every plant to green must contact the sun.

Jer17:5 curse be the man that depend on flesh(man).

* Every plant need the morning Dew for its growth. Hosea14:5. The Dew signify favor. Pro14:12b'its favor is as a Dew upon the grass'. Psl102:13. Everyone needs favor in life.

*  Every plant has a scent (Aroma). Hosea14:6-7. The smell of Lebanon symbolize divine presence. We all need God's presence in our live. The presence of God brings the following:

A. Blessing. Gen39:2, Act10:38. If God is with you,you cannot reduce.

B. Flourishing. Gen27:27-28,3John2. The presence of God will make you flourish in everything that you do. When God Blesses you your life will smell it.

Productivity of the plant.

Flow in the wind of praise and joy. Psl52:8-9. Joel1:12. We must engage in praises all the time so our lives will keep flourishing and not dry up.
